Each action-board row on /apps/overview already carries a navigation
button (Review / View / Open Backups). The whole row now triggers that
same navigation, so the small button is no longer the only hit target.
Rows opt in via a `nav` descriptor, so only plain go-to-that-tab rows
become clickable — rows with no action, and the "Update all" button
inside the updates row, are unaffected (updater actions are matched
first in the delegated handler, so Update all never double-fires).
The row is not given role="button": nesting the real buttons inside a
button role would break them for assistive tech. The inner button stays
the focusable, keyboard-reachable control; the row is a mouse-only
widening, with a hover state that lifts row and button together. A
whole-row click is suppressed when it ends a text selection.

The Login Details card fell back to the literal 'admin' when an app declared no
user or email key, so speedtest — which has a single CFG_SPEEDTEST_PASSWORD_1
and no user concept at all — advertised "User: admin" to anyone reading its
card. There is no such account; the field was fabricated by the fallback.
Show the username row only when a user or email key actually exists, and the
password row only when a password key does. eoCredList already omits any row
whose value is null, so passing undefined for either half renders just the half
that is real.

Every app with a generated admin password displayed "(not generated)" in its
Login Details. The credential matcher anchored on
^CFG_<APP>_(ADMIN_)?(PASSWORD)$, which stopped matching when generated keys were
given slot numbers — CFG_MATRIX_ADMIN_PASSWORD_1 and friends no longer hit the
regex, so the lookup fell through to its placeholder.
All ten apps carrying an admin password were affected: adguard, authelia,
bookstack, gitea, invidious, matrix, nextcloud, owncloud, pihole and stalwart.
Allow an optional _<n> tail. The anchor is kept otherwise, so a database or
upstream credential still cannot be mistaken for a login — CFG_<APP>_DB_PASSWORD_1
does not match, which is the case the anchor was added for.

The category pill on the app detail header was rendered inert — no click
handler at all — while the identical pill on the app cards navigated to that
category's filter view. Both now come from one AppsManager.renderCategoryTag(),
so the detail pill behaves like the card pill and the two can't drift again.
The pill's glyph was an <img> of a category SVG, and those SVGs hardcode
#1e90ff. That only ever matched the dark-blue theme; on nebula (the default,
accent #00d4ff) and any other theme the icon read as a dark smudge next to its
own label. It's now painted as a CSS mask filled with currentColor, so it
always matches the pill's text on every theme.

"Up to date" answers one question — has the tag I track moved? — and an
abandoned project answers it reassuringly forever. The tag stays put, the
digest never changes, and the app reports as current while receiving no
security patches at all. Nothing in the UI could tell a healthy stable
app from a dead one.
An audit of all 34 anchor images found five in exactly that state:
speedtest (4.4y since rebuild), focalboard (2.8y — Mattermost dropped
support in 2023), pihole-unbound (2.3y), trilium (2.2y), unbound (1.8y).
The scan now records image_updated_at per app (one cheap Hub call inside
the existing registry window, cached between windows like everything
else) and emits stale_after_days from CFG_UPDATER_STALE_DAYS (365, 0
disables) so the UI and the config agree on one number.
Surfaced as an "unmaintained?" severity chip on the fleet row and a
dated explanation in the app detail. Phrased as an observation rather
than an accusation — plenty of small tools are simply finished — but it
does spell out the security consequence, because that is the part a user
cannot infer from "up to date".
Deliberately NOT a "needs action" row on the Overview board: it is not
fixable by pressing anything, and a permanently amber board teaches
people to ignore the board.

Puts the stepped engine behind the "34 available" chip so it is not
CLI-only. Wired end to end: updater_upgrade task type -> task-router ->
updaterUpgrade action -> `libreportal updater upgrade <app> [version]`,
with a label and icon in the tasks list.
The button always confirms, and the dialog states the plan and the
guarantee rather than asking "are you sure?" — which app, from which
version to which, that every step snapshots first and waits for the app
to confirm it is serving with no migration outstanding, that a failure
stops the ladder on the last version that verified, and that it can take
a long time because each release runs its own migration.
Both delegated dispatchers (per-app Updates tab and the fleet Overview
rows) learn the action, so the button works wherever the chip appears.

The digest compare only ever asks about the tag already pinned, so it
answers "has my tag been rebuilt?" and can never answer "does a newer
version exist?". An app on v0.16 reports up to date forever while 0.17
ships. That is the gap between an app that updates and an app that is
current, and it silently affects every pinned app.
Adds tag enumeration for VERSIONED tags only (rolling tags already move
on their own): list the repo's tags, keep those sharing the current tag's
SHAPE, and pick the numerically greatest.
Shape matching is the whole safety story — v0.16 -> v#.# so it can never
"upgrade" you onto v0.16-alpine, 31-fpm-alpine onto 31-apache, or a date
tag onto a semver one. Comparison is component-wise numeric, so 0.10 > 0.9
and 1.0 > 0.99 (a string sort gets both wrong), with 10# forcing base ten
so an upstream "08" cannot be read as octal. 15 unit tests cover it.
Docker Hub only, deliberately: all three pinned apps live there, it needs
no auth, and the generic OCI tags/list wants a per-registry token dance.
Other registries stay quiet rather than guess. Throttled inside the
existing registry window and cached between windows so it cannot flicker.
Surfaced as INFORMATION, never an action: no button applies it, because a
version move can carry a data migration. `update_available` and the "up
to date" badge keep their exact meaning; the new state sits beside them
and points at the Version field.
Against the live registry: stalwart v0.16 is current, nextcloud is on
31-fpm-alpine with 34-fpm-alpine out, mastodon on v4.2.0 with v4.6.5 out.

Every themed dropdown on the app config page was dead: it rendered, but
clicking did nothing. Only that page — every other dropdown in the WebUI
worked.
renderAppDetail captured the config section's own innerHTML right after
displayConfigForm() had rendered it...

...and wrote the same string straight back. That is a no-op for the
markup and a catastrophe for behaviour: re-assigning innerHTML re-parses
the subtree, so every listener in it is destroyed.
custom-select.js had already wrapped each <select>, so the captured
string contained the .custom-select wrapper and the custom-select-native
class. The re-inserted copy therefore looked enhanced — which made the
enhancer correctly skip it as already-done — while having no click
handler at all. A dropdown that renders perfectly and does nothing.
The container is never wholesale-rewritten in that function (it updates
header/config/console individually), so the capture-and-restore had no
purpose. Both lines removed, with a comment stating that anything added
there must mutate the section rather than re-assign its innerHTML.
Diagnosed in a real browser rather than by reading: instrumenting
CustomSelect.build() showed the enhancer DID build a widget for the field
while the wrapper in the DOM was not the one it built, and patching the
innerHTML setter named apps-manager.js:785 as the writer. Verified live:
the dropdown opens, and picking an option sets the value (auto) and the
label.

getFieldMappings/getConfigCategories fetched host-GENERATED files with
default caching, so a browser that had the page open before a release
kept rendering the previous release's config UI — a newly shipped field
(UPDATE_TYPE) simply never appeared, with nothing on screen to hint the
page was stale. Only a hard refresh fixed it.
Adds {cache:'no-store'} to both, plus the one configs.json read in this
file that was missing it while two others already had it. Cost is a
conditional request per config-page open.

Four fixes that make the auto-updater a trustworthy background system:
* CFG_UPDATER_WINDOW (default 06:00-08:00 host time, right after the
05:00 backup cron; HH:MM-HH:MM wraps midnight, 'always' = any time).
Gates only the enqueue — scans keep running all day, so the Updates
page stays current and pending updates visibly wait for the window.
Malformed values fail closed and are rejected by the WebUI validator.
* "Check now" actually checks: an explicit `updater check` sets
UPDATER_REGISTRY_FORCE=1. The flag existed but nothing ever set it,
so the button silently reused the 6h digest cache and could not find
a build the user knew had shipped. Force also overrides interval 0,
which now means "manual-only" as documented in the roadmap.
* Registry stamp moved from /tmp to <system>/logs: the task processor
runs under PrivateTmp, so daemon and CLI each kept a separate 6h
clock and the daemon's reset on every service restart.
* A failed automatic attempt is no longer invisible: the scan emits
auto_attempted_digest (the one-shot no-retry stamp), and when it
matches the available build the UI stops promising an install that
will never come — per-app detail explains, the fleet row gets an
"auto failed" chip, and the Overview board counts it as needing you.
Also corrects the CFG_TIMEZONE label: it sets the containers' TZ only;
scheduled tasks follow the host clock (timedatectl), and the old
"Timezone for scheduled tasks" wording promised a knob that never
existed. The window + auto_window display state plainly WHEN updates
land, answering "how does the user know when the next update happens".

Adds the decision half of the app updater. Detection (P2) and the
snapshot-first apply/revert (P3) were already real, but nothing ever
pressed the button — every update waited for a click.
CFG_<APP>_UPDATE_TYPE=auto|manual per app, default auto (33 templates)
CFG_UPDATER_AUTO=true|false master switch, default true
updaterAppPolicy resolves the two the way backupResolveStrategy already
resolves backup strategy: the global switch can only make things more
manual. updaterApplyAuto runs at the end of `updater check` and enqueues
the ordinary updater_apply task for each auto app that has an update —
never applies inline, so an automatic update is the same code path, task
log, History entry and Roll back button as a manual one.
Safety: each attempt stamps its target digest under generated/auto/, so a
build that fails is rolled back and then left alone rather than retried on
every scan; in-flight updater tasks are skipped so scans can't stack.
Tracked end to end: updates.json carries each app's resolved update_type,
History entries carry trigger=manual|auto. The WebUI says whether updates
install themselves, chips only the apps that opted out, labels automatic
history, and — since an auto app's pending update needs no decision — keeps
it off the Overview board's "Needs action" view.
Also fixes artifactApplyAuto enqueueing without --detach: it runs inside
the single-threaded task processor's own poll, so following the new task in
the foreground waits for a task that cannot start until it returns.

The per-app Updates tab pushed a manual "Check" button (header + empty state)
even though scans run automatically on CFG_UPDATER_SCAN_INTERVAL — so an app with
nothing to update read like an empty/actionable page. Replace the manual Check
with a calm status line inside the panel: "Checked automatically · last checked X
· next check ~Y", backup-schedule style. The genuine Apply/Roll back actions stay
(applying is still manual and safe). No auto-apply.
- webui_updater_scan.sh: stamp scan_interval_minutes alongside generated_at in
updates.json so the display needs no separate config fetch (0 = auto off).

The expanded-row deep-link pushed /overview/<tab>?app=<app> — wrong prefix
and a ?query the SPA's path-based router drops on a cold load, so the row
never reopened from a shared URL. Switch to /apps/overview/updates/<app>,
matching the Migrate/Backups sub-tab path pattern, and parse the app from
that path segment in _honorAppDeepLink so the row expands on cold load too.

Trivy runs as a server whose vulnerability DB downloads on first boot; until it
lands no scan can produce results. Previously the updater generator wrote an
empty-but-valid cves.json the moment the file was missing, so installing Trivy
painted a green "no known vulnerabilities" all-clear that was actually a lie —
the DB hadn't even downloaded, and the Updates/Security view gave no signal.
Add an honest scanner state the WebUI branches on:
- containers/trivy/scripts/trivy_scan.sh — trivyScannerState (absent |
db_updating | ready) via `trivy version -f json`, trivyDbUpdatedAt, and
trivyScanImageCves (per-image scan normalized to {id,severity,package,
installed,fixed_in,url}, deduped). All degrade safely on error.
- webui_updater_scan.sh — stamp cves.json with scanner.state; only run real
per-image scans once the DB is ready. Always rewritten so state tracks live.
- updater-page.js — Security tab shows a loading box while the DB updates, an
install nudge when absent, and the genuine 🎉 only when ready+empty; Overview
CVE card sub + hint reflect the state.
- overview-manager.js — fleet Security row surfaces the "building CVE database"
pending state instead of silently omitting.
- function_manifest.sh — regenerated for the new trivy_scan.sh functions.

The embedded backup center deep-links *in* fine (mountBackupCenter parses the
sub-segment), but clicking a sub-tab never wrote the URL: BackupPage disables
pushTabToUrl() when embedded and nothing on the fleet side stepped in, so the
address bar stayed stale and the sub-tabs weren't shareable/deep-linkable —
unlike the sibling Migrate sub-tabs.
Give BackupPage an onTabChange hook fired on every switch; the OverviewManager
supplies it to replaceState /apps/overview/backups/<sub> (replaceState, matching
Migrate, so the on-entry deep-link re-sync can't stack a duplicate history
entry). Standalone /backup keeps using pushTabToUrl() unchanged.

Switching to the fleet Backups tab blanked the whole pane to a bare, headerless
lpLoadingBox() while the (script-heavy) backup center loaded, so it read as the
entire section reloading with no indication of where you'd landed — then the
header + content appeared at once when the fetch resolved.
Render the shared .ov-tab-header (💾 Backups + description + divider) up front and
drop the spinner into an .ov-tab-body beneath it, matching the per-app detail
tabs' header-first idiom (and the recent Admin board fix). The header stays put
and only the content area swaps in once BackupPage mounts.
The Migrate tab already does this — mountMigrate() injects its header and the
sub-tab strip is static, so its spinner is already confined to the Restore/Peers
sub-panel — so no change was needed there.

Replaces the extra on-card marketplace tags (the separate Official trust
badge) with a richer, more elegant flow: a registry card keeps a single
'Available' pill, and clicking Add (or the card) opens a modal outlining the
app — full description, publisher + trust, version, the add command, and a
'View full page on the marketplace ↗' link to the app's page on the source
it came from — with the actual add as the confirm. Gives a beat to review a
community app before pulling it in.
- webui_registry_scan.sh re-emits source{base,channel}; loadApps stashes it
(window.registryCatalogSource) + carries per-app version.
- openRegistryDetails() builds the eo-modal; addRegistryApp() is now just the
task dispatch (the modal's confirm / a fallback).
- The marketplace website supports a #<slug> deep-link (focus one app, with a
'Show all' bar), so the modal's link lands on that app's page.

Reverts a4e65df. The maintainer prefers the more fluid model where registry
apps flow into the App Center grid as 'Available — Add' cards alongside
installed/local apps, rather than a separate /apps/marketplace destination.
Restores the Stage-4 merged-grid behaviour (loadApps merges
registry_catalog.json; createAppCard renders registry cards; addRegistryApp
dispatches app_add). The make_app.sh featured passthrough + the generator's
featured/source fields go with it (unused by the merged grid).

Splits the catalog out of the main grid into its own destination, the
WordPress 'Add Plugins' vs 'Installed Plugins' model: the grid is now
purely 'your apps' (local definitions), and the new Marketplace section is
'get more apps' (the remote signed catalog).
- New MarketplacePage (components/apps/marketplace/) mounts at
/apps/marketplace inside the apps feature (same sub-dispatch pattern as
/apps/overview — no new top-level component). Pinned sidebar entry with a
live 'available to add' count badge.
- Status strip: signed/unsigned, available + catalog counts, serial, source
base+channel, freshness, and a Refresh that re-runs the host-side registry
scan via updater_check.
- Publisher-curated Featured shelf (meta.featured, set at publish time — no
tracking/popularity), category chips + search, per-app detail modal
(long description, publisher/trust/version, add command), and the chained
Add & set-up flow: dispatch app_add, and when the definition lands, hand
off to the app's config/install page.
- State-aware cards: Available (Add) / Added (Set up →) / Installed (Open).
- Backend: make_app.sh passes through meta.featured; webui_registry_scan.sh
emits featured + source{base,channel} in registry_catalog.json.
- Removed the grid's registry-merge + registry card path + its CSS (moved to
the namespaced marketplace surface); app_add task wiring + completion
handler retained and reused.

The embedded backup center's fragment kept its standalone-page skeleton
(.container + .sidebar restyled by a pile of overview.css overrides).
.container's fixed viewport height inflated the Backups tab pane to
~100vh, stretching the pane surface far past the content and under the
footer buttons, and the restyled strip never matched the app-detail
Config sub-tabs.
Rebuild backup-content.html on the canonical sub-tab idiom instead —
.tabs-wrapper > .tabs-list (emoji tab-buttons) + .tabs-content card,
with a .backup-actions footer below the card mirroring .config-actions.
The bespoke overview.css restyle block, the nebula special-cases, the
embed's id-stripping and BackupPage's dead page-header updater all fall
away; the export menu now opens upward from the footer.

containers/marketplace — nginx:alpine app (standard drop-in contract:
config + tagged compose + icon + install hook) whose docroot serves BOTH
halves of the marketplace: the signed catalog channel tree (index.json /
payloads, published into data/<channel>/ by the release tools) and a
self-contained client-rendered browse site over the same file (search,
category chips, trust badges, copyable 'libreportal app add <slug>' —
no third-party assets, no backend, no build step). The official
marketplace is an instance of this app; self-hosting one = installing it
and pointing CFG_RELEASE_BASE_URL at it. Boxes only ever trust the
minisign signature on the catalog, never the website.
New generic gating convention: CFG_<APP>_DEV_ONLY=true keeps an app out
of the App Center grid unless Developer Mode is on (CFG_DEV_MODE, the
same flag the **DEV** config-field filter uses); an installed dev-only
app always stays visible. The marketplace app is the first user.
Cache policy: catalog/channel manifests no-cache; payloads short
revalidating cache (same-id re-publish); version-pinned release
artifacts immutable.

The grid now also reads apps/generated/registry_catalog.json (optional
data: any failure = no registry cards, never a broken grid) and renders
signed-catalog apps that have no local definition as "Available — Add"
cards: indigo Available pill, teal Official trust badge, and an Add button
that dispatches the app_add task (task-actions/router/format wired). Local
definitions always win on a slug collision; registry cards sort last and
are excluded from the Installed view. No detail page until Add lands the
definition — then the card becomes a normal Install card, repainted by the
app_add branch in the task-completion handler without a manual refresh.

Pages and panels showed inconsistent loading states: the Backup center
and several admin pages (System, SSH, admin Overview), the Overview
Migrate/Peers panels, the per-app updater section and the backup engine
details modal rendered a bare 'Loading…' text line (updater-empty /
backup-empty-state) with no spinner, while Services/Config/Tasks used a
boxed card + spinner.
Add one shared loader — window.lpLoadingBox(message) + .lp-loading CSS in
the core/loading subsystem (the boxed card + accent spinner the good tabs
already use) — and route those bare-text loaders through it. The system
metric graph keeps its absolute overlay but gains the same spinner.

The custom-select enhancer only matched select.form-control /
select.theme-selector, so dropdowns rendered by the per-app config form
(config-form.js uses form-select / form-input / config-input), the app
tools form, the port-manager grid (port-* classes) and the instance
domain picker stayed as plain native OS dropdowns. The LibrePortal app's
Theme option is one of these.
Add those classes to ENHANCE_CLASSES, give the classless instance domain
select a form-control class, and add a compact button override so the
themed dropdown matches the dense port-manager input metrics.

Empty-state 'no data yet' messages rendered at rgba(text, 0.55) (and one at
text-muted), which is hard to read on the dark recessed panels. Switch them to
the theme's --text-secondary muted token so they stay de-emphasized but legible.
Covers .updater-empty, .updater-detail-empty, .sys-detail-empty, .eo-modal-empty.

The Services tab's loading placeholder (.services-loading) was a bare
centered row with no container chrome, unlike the Config and Tasks tab
loading cards. Give it the same boxed look (semi-opaque black fill,
hairline border, rounded corners, margin and min-height) so it reads as
a deliberate loading panel.

showAppDetail() derived the target tab from the legacy ?tab= query
(searchParams.get('tab')), but the app is path-based now
(/app/<name>/<tab>), so that read was always null and defaulted to
'config'. Since loadTabContent() calls showAppDetail() on every switch,
clicking any non-config tab (services/backups/updater/tasks) immediately
rewrote the URL back to /app/<name> and rendered config.
Read the current main tab off the path via appPartsFromPath, honouring
it only when already on this app; cross-app/cold nav still starts at
config. The legacy ?tab= shape is already normalised to the path by the
SPA's handleAppDetail before this runs.

/app/<name>/config/<sub> URLs (e.g. .../config/ports) are generated by the app
itself and shown in the address bar, but a refresh or deep-link always reset to
the first config category. Cause: showAppDetail() rebuilt the URL via
appPath(appName, targetTab) with NO sub argument and pushState'd it BEFORE
renderAppDetail() read the sub back off the path — so the /<sub> segment was
already gone and preferredCategory stayed null.
Preserve the sub when the URL already points at this app's config (matched by
appPartsFromPath().app === appName), so cold-load/refresh lands on the encoded
sub-tab. Cross-app switches still start at the first category. The sibling
showAppDetailWithConfig() (the grid 'manage' button) is intentionally left to
land on the first category.

The per-service rich detail panel (.service-rich: limits, healthcheck,
networks, mounts) and the live mem chip both did `const fmt =
window.SystemFmt` and bailed when it was absent. SystemFmt is defined by
the lazy admin System page module, so on the app Services tab it's usually
undefined — `_renderRichDetail` returned '' and the panel was never in the
DOM, so flipping Advanced revealed nothing.
Give the Services component its own SVC_FMT formatter (mirrors SystemFmt)
and use `window.SystemFmt || SVC_FMT` everywhere, dropping the hard bail.
The rich panel now renders whether or not /admin/system was ever visited.

The port manager's 'Show advanced fields' control was a raw <input type=
checkbox> + <span>, out of step with the modern pill switch the Services tab
uses for its Advanced toggle. Swap the markup to the shared .lp-ui-advanced-
toggle (track + thumb) structure — defined in services.css, which is loaded
globally — keeping .port-manager-show-advanced on the input for the JS hook.
Drop the now-dead .port-manager-advanced-toggle CSS.

The pinned 'Overview' sidebar entry used a rounded, inset pill (margin +
border-radius:8px) so its hover/active highlight floated in the middle of the
sidebar, unlike the full-width app-category rows below it. Drop the margin and
radius, adopt the .category padding (15px 20px), border-bottom separator and
var(--surface-hover) hover, so the highlight spans the full sidebar width with
square corners and matches the categories. Keeps font-weight 600 + the
page-updater active tint as its only distinguishing marks.

On /overview Backups the card surface lived on .main, which wraps both the
body and the flipped footer — so the background overhung past the action
buttons. Move the card surface onto .backup-page-body (rounded bottom,
joined to the tab strip) and let the footer sit transparent below it,
matching the app Config tab's .tabs-content + .config-actions split.

The fleet Overview area (Overview/Updates/Improvements/Backups/Migrate) now
lives at /apps/overview* instead of /overview*, reflecting that it belongs to
App Center. The Backups tab is therefore /apps/overview/backups, and the old
standalone Backup Center page is removed entirely:
- apps feature owns /apps/overview* (covered by the existing /apps* route); its
mount() dispatches /apps/overview -> fleet Overview before the grid check.
- _legacyRedirect() rewrites old short URLs so bookmarks/links keep working and
the address bar shows the canonical path:
/overview[/tab] -> /apps/overview[/tab]
/backup[/sub] -> /apps/overview/backups[/sub]
/updater, /peers redirects retargeted to /apps/overview*
- Removed the standalone backup feature: components/backup/{index.js,feature.json},
its manifest entry, the /backup route registrations and the dead handleBackup().
The BackupPage classes stay — the Overview Backups tab embeds them.
- Repointed every backups/overview link: the admin dashboard's 'Open backup
center', the app-card 'Open backup center' button + snapshot-overflow link,
the sidebar Overview entry, the improvements deep-link, and the Migrate
'go to locations' deep-link.
Also drop the redundant inline Check button from the Security empty state
(same rationale as Improvements: the host auto-scan repopulates it and the
header carries a manual Check).

The Services tab restart button POSTed to a backend endpoint that (a)
checked the app's compose path from INSIDE the webui container, where
the host's containers root isn't mounted — so every restart failed with
'Compose file not found' — and (b) queued a raw 'docker compose restart'
that the host task processor would run as the manager user, which can't
talk to the rootless daemon anyway. Errors surfaced via a bare alert().
Per-service restart now follows the exact shape of the whole-app verbs:
- CLI: 'libreportal app restart <app> [service]' — the optional service
arg makes dockerRestartApp restart just that compose service, via
dockerCommandRun (right user in rootless mode) from the app dir on the
host, where the compose file actually lives. Service names validated
against compose-legal characters before touching a shell line.
- WebUI: the button dispatches a 'service_restart' task action through
the task router (mutations-via-tasks), runs in the background with the
standard task toast + link — no page switch — and failures use the
notification system instead of alert(). Because the task runs host-
side, restarting the WebUI's own libreportal-service now works too.
- Backend: the mutating restart endpoint and its now-unused helpers are
removed; service-routes.js is read-only surface (status + log tails).

Replace the stat-tile grid with a needs-attention board: a health hero on
top (one big status circle — green all-clear / amber something-to-do /
neutral pre-scan — matching the admin dashboard's dot language) over one
status row per area (updates, security, improvements, backups). Rows that
want a decision are tinted with their area hue and carry their action
buttons inline (Review / Update all / Open Backups); healthy areas
collapse to a quiet neutral one-liner. An Everything / Needs action chip
pair filters the board down to just the actionable rows.
Board rows deep-link with intent: Security lands on the Updates tab
pre-filtered to the affected apps via a new data-filter hop on the goto
action. backupSummary() now splits never-backed-up from week-stale apps
so the backup row can say which it is.

Replace the click-to-scan-only flow with a self-throttled auto-scan that
rides the existing task-processor idle poll (the same shape as the
network-drift check — no new daemon, unit, or endpoint):
- 'libreportal updater check auto' gates on the age of the generated
updates.json vs CFG_UPDATER_SCAN_INTERVAL (minutes, default 30,
0 disables); a fresh file makes the 60s tick a single stat() + return.
Manual checks and post-update rescans reset the clock for free, and a
missing file means the first scan runs ~a minute after install.
- Eligible signed hotfixes keep flowing through artifactApplyAuto, which
only enqueues ordinary tasks — mutations stay on the task path.
- Open updater surfaces (standalone /updater and the fleet Overview's
headless UpdaterPage) follow along with a 60s static-JSON re-read that
repaints only when a generated_at stamp changed; timer released via
dispose() on unmount, ticks skipped while hidden.
- Empty states now say the first scan happens automatically; Check now
stays as the immediate manual override.

The Backups tab's embedded BackupPage repeated the active section as a
big page header (icon + 'Dashboard' + subtitle) right under the nested
strip that already names it. Embedded-scoped CSS now hides the title
block and flips the header below the body (flex order), so its actions
(Refresh + per-section primary) become a bottom-left footer row — the
same place app-detail tabs keep theirs. The export dropdown flips to
open upward from the footer. The standalone /backup page is untouched.
The Migrate ▸ Peers sub-tab drops its page header (breadcrumb + title
+ blurb) the same way: the peer list/empty state now sit in the shared
recessed .ov-tab-body container with the four actions in a bottom-left
.peers-actions footer.

Every fleet Overview tab now follows the per-app detail tab idiom the
rest of the app uses: title + description on the left, action buttons
on the right, a divider underneath, and the body inside the recessed
dark container (.tasks-container recipe).
- renderHeader() gains an action slot; Check/Check now/Update all move
out of in-body toolbars into the header (Updates keeps its filter
chips in the body; the Apps-tracked stat card drops its duplicate
Check button; UpdaterPage.renderImprovements can skip its toolbar).
- String tabs wrap their body in .ov-tab-body — margin/padding 16px,
rgba(bg,.2) panel — mirroring backup/tasks/updater containers.
- The Backups tab's embedded nested strip (Dashboard/Backups/Locations/
Configuration) now sits on the same surface as every other tab strip:
added to the nebula sidebar-bg anchor rule (it was stuck on the
lighter --hover-bg) and its buttons use .main-tab-button type.
